Celebrating the 6th

I'm kinda in love with this little man.

He's full of spunk and energy and completely melts my heart.

For all of his life, Charlie's weight has been an issue.  We've seen specialist after specialist and never been giving answers why he's so small.  He's been in the 3rd percentile for a majority of his life and has occasionally dropped off the charts.  Just a few months ago, doctor's sent us to a nutritionist and we were basically told to give him Carnation Instant breakfast every day (it has more calories when served with whole milk and less sugar than Pediasure).

Stinker will only drink it out of a bottle, so we've let him have that bottle as much as he wants.  I'm sure his dentist will hate us someday, but for now, it's the best thing we can do for him.

We made an appointment yesterday, ready to pursue further specialists.  Hubs even came in his uniform and was prepared to get the best care for his son.  To our surprise, Charlie has jumped up to the 6th percentile, a number I have never seen on his chart.  The doctor was happy with his stats and said, "whatever you are doing is working and you just need to keep it up".  Such blissful words to my ears.  I finally felt like I was doing something right for him.

The doctor chuckled as he watched Charlie race around the examining room and said that he clearly has a high metabolism and burns lots of calories because he never stops moving.

Today, I'm celebrating a little number 6.
Cheers to you Carnation Instant Breakfast!
Thank you for putting a little meat on my little man's bones.
